Fieldnote's founder, a former property inspector, wanted to replace paper inspection checklists with something faster on-site, but had never scoped a piece of software before and had no engineering team.
Our approach

Ran a scope-cutting session that reduced an ambitious 40-feature roadmap to a single flow: photograph, tag, and generate a PDF report
- 02
Built the MVP as an installable web app so inspectors didn't need to download anything from an app store to test it
- 03
Delivered a working demo environment the founder could put directly in front of investors and pilot inspectors
